World Hunger
Hunger is a condition in which people do not get enough food to provide the nutrients (carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water) for active and healthy lives.
Hunger is a global problem, but it is also a national and local problem. At the local level, each of us(United Methodists) can help. In November each year a Special Sunday offering is taken. Usually it is the Sunday closest to Thanksgiving, often called Harvest Home/World Hunger Sunday. Your generosity and concern in 2005 enabled us through the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church to give grants to 63 projects caring for the hungry across this annual conference. Many of you have responded to this Harvest Home/World Hunger Sunday appeal, your annual support means a great deal to this committee and to those who receive the grants. Our request is $1.00 per member. Every cent you send goes to help alleviate hunger. The needs continue across this annual conference. Won't you please continue to do all that you can to alleviate hunger?

Thanks so much for your help in the past. We look forward to the future without hunger -- if each of us does our part it can be done.
